I paid 12,500 for my 1976 with undocumented 35k garage kept - had an inspection the guy said it needed a radiator frame. it is the same color red,steel wheels clean,l48 with minor manifold and roller rockers.Spent another 8k having headers removed new exhaust,shocks,radiator frame and radiator,some minor suspension work.I could have saved alot doing it myself but no time or tools....anyway dont worry about the vega steering wheel it works and no-one else has one.I enjoy driving the car with my daughter....It was the car she learned to drive on.The body and paint look alot better than mine.....When you repair or upgrade using a pro you pay 80 to 100.00 per hour. It adds up quick....Look close and negotiate for any repairs you may think you need....good luck

I ordered my '76 new. List was $8998 and I paid $8126. I had it in a show about 7-8 years ago and a guy there asked me if it was for sale. He said it was just what he was looking for. He asked me who painted it and I told him Chevrolet motor divison. When I told him I was the original owner he flipped. He then said he would give me 14k cash that afternoon. Now, I will never sell this car but it was sure nice to know that it will always be worth more than I paid!
