hey there. Just had one put in my wifes car last year. Custom Autosound makes a great model for the car that requires no modifications to the dash. It also looks close to original with an anolog dial faker With digital(hard to read) behind that can be seen better at night, but the 6 disc CD changer fits in the compartment behind the passenger seat. I took mine in to a local radio shop for installation at a cost of $200. The unit was reasonable and works great.

Just put one in my 82 CE not easy but tolerable if you have patience.

Bought mine from Ecklers, they have them made up for your moadel and year. Prewired no soldering or cutting up the dash.

Cost for a 60 W Kenwood was $269, you can find them cheaper but you must butcher your dash to make them fit.

I've been checking around for the same thing and found Kenwood , Custom Auto Sound, and JVC make numerous models that will fit right in the bezel without mods. Prices from $209.00 to $300.00 with CD changer capability. No CD player will fit in the older cars bezel without cutting, so you'll have to settle for a cassette with changer capability. These radios have the Corvette logo and or Chevy logo, and look much like the original. Black or chrome face. you can order them through ZIP's or Rick's Unlimited catalog. Rick's was a little cheaper!
Good hunting

The Last Detail has that 60 watt Kenwood for $221.
They also have other radios with various wattage.

My only problem with putting a newer radio in my 79 is that they don't make them with a CB. My 79 has the AM/FM/CB radio from the factory and, while I don't use it alot, I still use it and don't want to do without it. My stereo works fine and I don't want to have a separate CB outside of the dash. As soon as I find a new one with CD changer capability and CB that will fit in the dash, I'll buy it, but not until then.
