Default Auto lifts help

I am at the Barret Jackson Auction and in the market for a home auto lift and I have narrowed my search to 2 manufacturers Superlifts SR model and the second one is a Rotary lift sold by a company called Revolution. Any input good or bad would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have a Rotary short lift and it works great. They are a very well made piece and are a well known and old brand that is in many many commercial garages.

I am also looking to buy a new 4 post lift and had settled on Bend-Pak as they also are an established name that is in many commercial applications - but less money then the Rotary. Curious if you had looked at them - Bend-Pak that is.

Whichever road you venture down, check to see that your lift is made in the USA. Lots of them are made overseas to lower safety standards.

I just bought a Bend Pak HD-9XW. Packaging was really bad. 2 metal brakets, cardboard, and shrinkwrap. That's it. Many parts were scratched and some of them were dented. Good thing is they are replacing the damaged parts. A lot of hassel though since I already put the lift together and I would have to take the entire lift apart to replace one of the posts. They also said it was made in USA but I found "made in China" on the motor. Haven't used it long enough to tell you whether I like it or not.

I also bought Bend Pak but my experience was great. They are local here, and I paid the extra $400 to have them install it. I am very happy.

How does it stand up to the elements being outdoors? Rust or anything?

So far, so good. No problems. I made a trash can cover for the motor, and I spray WD40 on everything that moves. I've seen muffler shops with these things outside, and they don't WD40 or wax like I do.

I also saw a number of them outside at garages - much south of Maine - but they were working fine. They didn't all look that great because they were not well maintained and they are outside but the people I spoke with said they had no issues. If the lift can deal with that then it should like my heated garage just fine!
