Default Instructions for heater core removal on 77

77 heater core change. I have ordered the manuals for the car but want to get a jump start since everything is taken out of the interior of the car. is anyone willing to scan the heater core change section of there service manual for me. I am hoping the manuals will get bhere by Tuesday and that will give me Wed to look things over before I have to go to work. If anyone could do that for me I would really appreciate it.

How many bolts hold the heater box in is it 3 because I only saw 3. Is the next step unhooking the hoses and how do I do that without losing all the antifreeze? Should I just clamp both hoses. Thanks

Default 77 heater core

I used the link paul67 suggested above. I had no antifrreze in mine when I took it out but I would think that if your replacing the hoses cut them up near the waterpump and the vacuum valve and let it drain down. Its easier that cutting them at the heater core and splashing it all over your self. (2) different size hoses.

On a job like this it is false economy to try to unhook the hoses. Just cut them off and buy new bulk lengths approximating what you cut off. We are not talking big $s for bulk hose. The sizes are 3/4" and 5/8".
