Ok you guys..I know someone out there has done this I'm sure...I"m trying to find out how to install C5 or C6 wheels on a "73" C3 Vette Rod...Little help...Rob in Detroit
Thanks for the info...What worries me is getting the spacing right...I think I will probably need at least two inches or so...A real measurement from someone who has done this exactly would be real cool time saver...Once you buy something on EBAY ...your stuck with it.......RA
Mine has 2.5" adapters all around for 17x9.5 and 18x9.5 C5 Z06 wheels. Do a search or click on my pictures, you have to modify or remove your rear sway bar.
wait till you see a pic of the huge spacers and the brake caliper and rotor tucked in 10 ft behind the wheel. IMO it just looks wrong. Does no one make a copy of that style wheel with the proper offset?

Rob- I have the C6 Chrome 18 x 8.5 wheels with 255/45 R18 Riken Raptor tires all around. I've got a lot of compliments on this combination. Looks great!! I ordered this package from Bones Enterprises in Ga. You can call them at (678) 990-2875 or e-mail them at Sales@bonesenterprises.com They are GREAT to deal with and can answer any questions you may have. I have a couple pictures in the gallery section "freetime" My 82. By the way, I live near you, I'm in Wyandotte, Mich.

Yes my friend, we all do. They just look perfect on that car.
I don't like the look up close either. The spacing is wrong. It looks like you are trying to adapt something to your car.
Get the right wheels with the correct offset to begin with.

I would tend to agree that I like a wheel with the proper back spacing, but sometimes the wheels and spacers are a lot less of an investment than the proper spaced wheels.
I have installed all VB & P suspension components front and rear composite mono springs...All four corners are adjustable...I plan on lowering the car just a bit ...so the tires and wheels need to be able to tuck in..especially during jounce so there needs to be clearance so the body doesn't touch the tire and wheel at any time...thats why the spacing measurement must be spot on or it won't work...I like the Z06 wheels...looks cool...I'm in contact with Custom Wheels.com...they seem very helpfull...infact they have a set of chrome 17"/18" Z06 wheels for $650....brand new...I have my heart set on a set or five spoke C6 style....unless this combination looks weird because of the brake spacing....wish I could see one....RA
That's why I went with the Z06 replicas, I got a whole set new for $600, the adapters cost me another $200, another $300 for tires, and I was rolling on 17s & 18s. There are wheels out there with the proper offset, TTIIs look good, and BBS has some. But I liked the looks of the C5 Z06, and I can live with the brakes and rotors being inside a little.
Jaguar wheels will also fit Corvettes and generally have a lot of positive offset. They share the same chevy bolt pattern, spread and hub bores, so this will open up another layer of options for you if interested.
Hey guys, I'm gonna buy a 1974 Vette this weekend if everything works out. And I saw this thread.
I gotta say I love the way your car looks BJ. If you dont mind could you send me a mail telling me exactly how you got that look? Any mods that you made from stock so I can start getting the parts together, thanks. Mail is jtstarkiller@hotmail.com
The one I'm buying completely stock, and I was really hopin to get some Z06 Rims on it, of course I haven't decided if I should get the black ones or ones to match the chrome of my rocker pannels. Gonna repaint the body to a Dark Metalic Green (kinda the same shade as the C4 Vettes) and the rear bumper as needs replaced. Anyways, my goal is to get as much rear tire as I can to the pavement cuase I'm dropping a new crate engine I bought from my buddy so getting down a set of 265-275 size tires in the back would be nice, also wouldn't mind being able to buy some lower springs for the front from Mid America Motorworks.
Another option I read was buying offset T-Arms that are sold by VanSteel or M.A.M. but I have absolutely have no idea how much work would be involed with that or what the cost would be in the end.
Hey! What hood is that? Is that the same hood you have GroovyJ? I like that car, and it's in my favorite color. You could hide a lot of engine under that hood. What's in there? More details please.
