My new 327 will be around 400HP. I am also installing an M20 at the same time. What's a good durable clutch kit that will stand up to those power numbers? Cost is a factor also. This build is quickly breaking the bank.

How about a stock clutch setup from the early big block cars? will they fit your small block and M20?
I just went to the mid level center force (my bank balence is screaming as well). The neat thing about the center force is they have weights on them that make the clutch grab harder as the rpm's increase so you get the extra grab without needing both feet to push the pedal.
I have a 383 stroker which "supposedly" has 440hp. The owner of the corvette shop (KLJ corvettes) recommended the Centerforce dual friction clutch. I bought it from Summit over 2 years ago and it does the job. Summit part # CTF-DF148552. $262.95. Hope this helps.

I have the CF II behind my 383 and it is flawless. I also have a hydraulic setup and I can push it in with my big toe. Never heard any noise and has never felt like it wasn't handling my abuse.

Does anyone know if those Center Force clutches would work with a Ford T5 swapped behind a BBC?
Scott,
I used the CF Dual-Friction with the McLeod bellhousing/scatter shield with a hydraulic setup from them as well. The pedal feel is sweet.

Centerforce Dual Friction,..I run it on four cars. Reportedly has 90% more holding power than stock yet the pedal is as light as the pedal of a new Toyota.
Patrick - I'm really considering just throwing in a new disc and having the flywheel turned. The pressure plate looks pretty good. What do you think?
Your original post said that you planned 400 HP on a 327 soooo if you use todays tech to build torque and yesterdays clutch tech the disk will probably not hold up. Not what you want to hear but smoking a clutch after you have come this far just aint fun.
