That's an interesting trim tag. The 192 is the interior code, black leather.
The paint code is the weird one. It looks like the tag originally was a 13L code which woud have been silver, but in the middle of the 3 it looks as if it's been re-stamped with a zero using a hand held number stamp. This would make it a code 10L which is a classic white car.
Ask any Corvette enthusiast and the first thing they'll tell you is that odd re-stamps did happen during production and this may easily be one of them.
Can you see eveidence of the original color, say, under the rocker sills? Was it white or silver? If it looks like the car was white originally I'd have to say it was built with a silver trim tag and changed during production.
In my book that makes it pretty cool
Best,
Greg

If you zoom in, you can see white around the edges.

So currently the color is red. The tag looks like its been beat to hell.

You know what I beleive it was originally white heres a pic of the sills. You can see the original white.

Interior is a buckskin now but almot looks as if it was a brown or saddle under the buckskin dye.
Can you guys make out the letter in the top of the tag. Is it a G23 or C23 thanks? Also how rare are the restamps?

I don't think that is white your seeing there, I think it's reflections from the flash. I also don't know what that is in between the 1 and 3. I think the car was more than likely Silver when it left the factory. My car was also red when I got it, but the tag read 13L like yours which is Silver. Try looking for Silver paint in areas that would be hard to repaint with an average repaint job. I used a blow dryer to remove the door sticker on mine inside of the driver's door and it was Silver behind it like the trim tag said.

Heres a better pic of the sill and it sure looks white. I am shy of peeling any tags like you say because I may not be able to get them to stick again. Worse they may rip.

I see what your saying, mine was painted white also somewhere along the way as well. Maybe whoever repainted it also tried to re-stamp it as well? Just an idea. My tag came off in one piece nice and easy you just have to go slow with it, get one corner started and pull up gently a little at a time while keeping the heat on it to loosen up the old glue on the back of it. To re-attach it I used 3M Photo Mount Spray Adhesive and it works like a charm. It is also good for re-attaching Inspection Stickers to the windshield, or other old stickers back on the car.

Looks like a "G" to me, which would be February(I think) 23 date. Is your VIN between 22000 and 24000?

Corvette Black Book is a good quick reference. I also have the NCRS judging guide, but for 78-79 which is why I wasn't sure for 77 and February.

edit: "G" is 7th month of 77 production, with August 76 being first month, or "A".
Mike

Then I'm probably a month off with "G" being March 23 and the Vette going out the door first week of April. Then VIN might be between 28000 and 32000. Hopefully someone with a 77 can get it right .

'G' is a Feb car for 1977. The last VIN produced in March was 429041 and 433057 was last in April.

431845 was therefore built in April, which agrees with one of the stickers, yet the car has a Feb trim tag.

Hmmmm.

Default Lot of scratches

Sure is messed up for being a trim tag. Maybe removed at some point, put in a tool box then reapplied. Mine is in A 1 shape and mine is a 69, although been in a garage since 77 until this Thanksgiving when I got it.
