Engine just rebuilt. (Added MSD, high rise intake and holley carb) If the engine is'nt started for a week or so it takes 10-15 cranks for it to start. If I start it on back to back days it starts right up. Does the air/gas mixture in the intake or lack of after sitting for awhile cause this to happen?

Take air cleaner off.
Open and hold choke butterfly.
Give throttle at carb 1 full pump and look into throats of primaries to see if you are getting squirts from accelerator pump.
If you get squirts, then release choke butterfly, repeat and see if choke butterfly goes to closed position (1/8" gap)
If you don't get squirts, your fuel bowl has either leaked or the gas has evaporated. Crank for a bit and repeat test to confirm shot. I'm guessing this is you.
Depending on the type carb, there are different cures. Just saw it is a Holley. Take carb off without starting to see it intake is wet.
