Last year sometime I heard a rumor that some lady had found a bunch of "lost" paperwork for the early C3's and all you had to do was send her your Vin# and she'd look for your car.
I'm sure this is a repost but I've done the search of the archives and found nothing
Is this true for 1973??? any info or link would be helpfull
Thanks
Oh, if that were only true....
Maybe someday, someone will really come across those documents. Those of us with no ProtectoPlate or tank sticker could be redeemed.
Someday...oh someday...
I think some of the owners of "original" cars had her killed . I'm just kidding of course but, it would be quite a shock to many people who own rare cars to find documentation that they were clones.
it's true, her name was Peggy don't remember her last name..something w/a V. The info was free then, now you can buy it via the ncm.
Peggy sounds right.... Didn't she find a Whole bunch of records.... like from 1968-76 or something like that
the ncm websight websight only lists sheets for 1981 and up do I need to join or call someone to see if they have mine???
What you could get free from GM was the original dealer invoice for your car. It listed all of the options as well as the dealer that the car was shipped to. I obtained one for the 79 that I had, but not too long afterward GM turned the operation over to an outside vendor and they were going to charge $50 or so (maybe more). I don't remember the cutoff year but the info was only available for later years, maybe 76? and up.
Do a search on Peggy Venezia and you might find the thread. She gave the name of the vendor who took over.
Gm media archives is what you are looking for. That unit was farmed out to

Peggy was in charge of this and so someone else is handling her position
Yes it was a free service but as of March of 05 it turned into a fifty dollar bill. And only starting 77 and some early vehicles were lost. Got mine in less than a week. The real twist to mine was. The car was ordered by a GM employee had his name on the invoice. I thought that at that time locally Hyatt Bearing was still going and Linden Assembly was where I worked. I did alittle digging and found out he worked in Linden Assembly. I got the car in Sept 05 last it was on the road was 1989. The car was ordered from Norris Chevrolet in Westfield NJ.They are still in buisness at a diffrent location in Westfield.
Peggy now lives in Nigeria, and if you send her $50 she will send you the original GM build information for you VIN. Also, Peggy's father, now deceased, has a collection of very desireable C2/C3 Corvettes. She doesn't want to sell them in the family's name because they will be subjected to extremely high Nigerian taxation rates. If you will agree, they will transfer the titles to your name, and sell them in your name. They will give you $5,000 per car. You are, however, asked to first send $2000 to cover escrow/title transfer fees.
