Default Need Help: Which flex plate for this engine?

This is all the information I have on this engine. I have no idea what flexplate to match with this and the one I have won't work. I tried to call the guy I bought it from with no luck. I might be able to find the machine shop, but that's hit or miss. I'm guessing internally balanced, but I don't want to be wrong.

Random facts:

4 bolt main

-Comp Ratio 10.1

- hp and torque peak @ 5400 rpm

-The hp and Tq numbers are exact, engine was dynoed by AR racing when it was built with 437hp & 468 Ft. Lbs torque, This was with 4bbl carb, shuld be ALOT MORE if you went with a TPI system.

Machine Work

-Select high tin block 4 bolt main. 030 over

Except for the heads the description is almost identical to my 383 stroker engine purchased from A.R. Racing - Performance.

I just contacted Mark at A.R Racing the other day regarding flexplate id. Some punk grabbed the one sent with the engine out of my garage. It has been a couple of years since I've bought the engine and I wanted to make sure I buy the correct one before I start the install next month. He emailed right back and told me what type to buy (400 SBC - 168 tooth external balance).

Mark's email is: arracingunl@***.net <arracingunl@***.net>. He is very good about answering questions. You might want to ask him since he is the engine builder.

On second look, I just noticed you are in VA. A.R. Racing is located at 14333 Snakecastle Road, Summerduck, VA. I don't know how close that is to Norfolk, but at least your in the same State.

I have the new flex plate off my ZZ4. If that is what you are looking for then you are welcome to it.

Binney77-

I don't know if the flexplate offer was to me or cduemig. I've got another one comming from Summit, so hopefully cduemig can take you up on your very generous offer.

Default more questions

You neglegted to state what size engine this is, is it a 350, has it been stroked to a 383, is it a 400, has it been internally balanced. Why doesnt the flexplate fit, is the center hole too small, this would indicate a 1 piece rear main flexplate that you are trying to put on a 2 piece block. Happy to help, just need a little more info.

I wrote the guy from AR, we'll see what he has to say. If I can use the flexplate from the ZZR I'd really appreciate it. I'm to the point where I can put the engine back in, but this and the valve covers are holding me up. The valve covers are cosmetic and can be fixed later, this can't. I'll let you know.
