I just contacted Mark at A.R Racing the other day regarding flexplate id. Some punk grabbed the one sent with the engine out of my garage. It has been a couple of years since I've bought the engine and I wanted to make sure I buy the correct one before I start the install next month. He emailed right back and told me what type to buy (400 SBC - 168 tooth external balance).
Mark's email is: arracingunl@***.net <arracingunl@***.net>. He is very good about answering questions. You might want to ask him since he is the engine builder.
On second look, I just noticed you are in VA. A.R. Racing is located at 14333 Snakecastle Road, Summerduck, VA. I don't know how close that is to Norfolk, but at least your in the same State.
