Found the Timing Tab
I had sumitted a topic last week about looking for the timing tab on a new 385 fast burb crate motor. I was directed to get one from GM Performance Parts, but the number was discontinued. The parts person at the local Chevy deal said to get one from a local performance shop. I picked one up and while I was trying to figure out how it would bolt on to the motor, I found the factory timing tab. Its a small tab molded into the timing chain cover. it has a small slot in the middle and it can only be seen when looking down behind the water pump. Really weird... but I'm happy to have found it.
