hi guys,
can anyone tell me the approx weight of a factory 350 from 1980 c3
i need to buy an engine stand whilst i restore chassis but dont want to buy something to small for the job

W/ all the hype out there about "Heavy big blocks vs light small blocks" I thought there would be a lot bigger difference than that.

160 pounds is a lot on the front of a car ment to be a sports car
and go around corners. there is no doubt in a strait line with all the cubes you can build with a big block these days 160 lbs is no big deal.

A small block vette w/ A.C., P.S. and P.B. vs. a small block w/ out those things will give you a similair difference in wieght, also removed from the front of the car, yet you hear very little about the adverse effects these options have compared to the "big block/small block" debate. Just an observation, and apologies to bloater, dont want to highjack your thread.
