Steering Wheel replacement on '76

Hello,

I'm in the process of restoring the interior on my '76. I sure would like to get rid of the original steering wheel and replace it with a different style. Is this possible? If so, does anyone have any suggestions.

does your 76 have the four spoke vinyl vega wheel?

if so, there was a post a few days ago about this.

Thanks. Yeah, mine is the Vega wheel. It is a tele and a tilt as well. I sure hope that this will work for me. I can't see the speedometer!! Not to mention that it has faded to a light gray....

could be worse. I have the oyster colored interior. my vega wheel had fadded/worn to a dingy yellow.

btw. I have a 79 w/o the tilt/tele column. not many guys chose this option.

You might find these papers of value. They outline the parts that are required to install either a 1969-75 steering wheel, telescope lock, and horn parts on a 1976 column and the parts required to install a 1977-82 steering wheel.
