Default Accelerator stuck? rpms keep going up help!

I just changed my Accelerator cable (old one snaped) ad now when I turn my car on, the RPms will slowy go up on it s own...I checked that the cable is not pulling on the carb and it s not, it lets the throttle go back all the way any clues what it could be? as I said the acc cable does not pull at all on the carb when the pedal is not pressed but the rpms will go up anyways.
thanks

Did you remove any springs that were attached to the carb's throttle?

Can you get us a close shot of the carb from the driver's side, with the air cleaner taken off?

ok never mind, it works fine I guess it was just my electric choke going crazy
Now Is it normal that the part connected to the carb is loose?
i found out that if it was too tight, the i could not press the gas pedal all the way without having the plastic surrounding the cable pop out. when it s loose it works fine. I double bolted it just in case but is it noral or is going to unscrew completely with vibration?
als I had to bend the cabl quite a bit to make it fit almost if it was too lon (but it wasn t since the replacment was the exact same size as the original)

So everything worked out with the accelerator cable? Good work on a job you did yourself.

yeah it's all good. I know it's nothing big for most of you guys but for me it was pretty satisfying to change the cable myself and figure out on my own....and saving $100!!!
thanx

I know if feels good when you finally turn that corner and start doing the work yourself. Honestly the first step is investing in some tools. Nothing expensive. Maybe a complete set of metric and standard sockets and wrenches. Basic hand tools like wire cutters, needle nose pliers, pliers, crescent wrench, adjustable wrench, rags, drain pans...just buy them one at a time until you have some tools. Then doing your own work is fun and easy. Pick the little things that won't keep your car down long.
