Default Needs Pics/Info on Heater Core Replacement

i know this topic has probably been covered MANY times, but i searched and couldnt find anything with in depth info. i have a 79' with A/C and was wondering if anybody has taken enough pictures where i could see how to remove the heater core. it looks buried in there, but i have the motor out for about 2 more weeks. i figured now is a good time as any to replace it...interior is out too. Thanks in Advance

Thankfully I haven't had to do this.
but I believe the best method is to remove the dash.
Good Luck

Oh yr in for a pain in the A&*, the best time to replace the heater core is when the engine is out....... (gives you more room), pull the A/C box off the engine side of the firewall, then you will need to take off the passenger side of the dash. this will give you access to the interior box, its a lot of work but this is the time to do it,while the engine is out and you have the room...... myself? I got a new core, and was told thats its not a bad idea to have it pressure checked before I do the install.... (its a good idea to do this) Yea dont want to ever have to do this again..... hope this helps?,

where can u go to get it pressure tested? i think i will take the dash out since it was just removed about 6 months ago, it shouldnt be "stuck" in there.

Don't need to take it anywhere to pressure test. Put a balloon over one tube and inflate thru other tube. Put thumb over end and immerse in tub of water. Look for bubbles.
