Mine are painted body color. Seems like all of my vehicles, not just corvettes have been body colored.

I have a reference book called "Corvette restoration guide 1968-1982" by Richard Prince and he says "Door hinges, bolts and return springs (there should be one spring on each top hinge) are painted body color in both 1968 and 1969." This is a useful book if you are doing a reto.
