Default Anybody try this swap?

I resently decided to swap in a new motor and trans, I am either using this LS2 http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...60647_-1_10763 with a 4L60E trans. This car will be driven to a ton of audio shows, I average about 500miles every weekend. I need a motor with reliability and want power with some MPG. I like the look of these motors also.

Does anyone see any mounting problems in general?

I also have a chance to get a complete LS7 from a wrecked 2007 (complete from top to bottom but no computer) and am thinking that if I can get a 4 barrel intake like the one on the LS2 I would try that.
Will the intakes interchange? Is the intake available by itself from GM?

Will either motor give me mounting problems?

The LS7 has a flywheel, what flexplate would fit?

Will the 4L60E fit the stock TH350 mounts?

Anything else I should know about?

Register on this forum...

http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/index.php?

...and do a search for what you're trying to do. A lot of our C3 guys go there for answers and you'll find LOTS of info.

Also on this forum, click search, then advanced search, check the 'archives' box, and select 'C3 Corvettes 1968-1982'.

Use words like LS2 swap, and LS7 swap. You'll get lots of threads to read through. Open a Word document, and save all the pictures and text that pertains to what you want to do.

but I think you'll get more hits searching for LS1 since there aren't many LS2 or LS7 swaps that I know of.

At least on LS1Tech you can ask all your intake manifold questions and find out if things differ from one version to the next.

IMO not a bad price for an aluminum small block 440hp.

Someone wrecked the 07 vette already?? what a shame.
Without a computer that engine won't be the same. Whats this one going to cost ya?

$4000 and it only had 75 miles on it. I use a used parts locating program to find parts at work and tripped over this one. The rest of the car is already gone. I checked because I wanted other parts as well.

That's an amazing price for that motor. They go for three times that at most salvage yards.

You can get a brand new crate Ls7 from a Chevy dealer for less than $13000.00. Only extras I believe are the oil cooler and the computer for a few hundred more.
That's a deal considering what you get 505hp

That price is too good to be true. Depending on how bad the car was totaled, there could be block damage making it a boat anchor. If no damage you would be a fool to pass that price. My .02

Have bought a lot of wrecked cars in the past.
I have even seen a distorted non funtional thermostat from a collision. That takes some force.

I would guess there is some damage. Maybe it's garanteed.

I agree, check out that 07 motor with a fine tooth comb. If all is perfect, then 4k is a steal.

Keep in mind that that is the wholesale price.
