Hi everyone, first things first, Ravens 24, Titans 10 on Sunday. OK....
I understand about stall ratings of torque converters. With a mild build up such as the one I'm planning (heads and cam) combined with my existing mods what kind of stall speed would i be looking at for maximum grins.
Also can someone explain the 'philosophy' of selecting the correct converter for a car such as ours. I assume that these don't have a lock up so if you have a 2200RPM stall speed will this affect the car when it is cruising at or around 2200?
Re: General Torque Converter Question. (Go Ravens)
First off, it must be great bein' a Ravens fan...I live in MI and as you know, our Lions S*CK. SUMMIT has a short article in their latest catalog that sez if you have a cam with less than 216 degrees at .050 lift then you dont need a performance converter. I'm no expert here friend, but since no one else has replied I thought I'd try to help. TNT76VETTE :yesnod: :flag
Re: General Torque Converter Question. (Go Ravens)
don't forget to add an extra tranny cooler, extra slippage in the converter causes extra heat in the fluid. extra heat in the fluid will shorten the life of the tranny drastically
