Default Driveshaft bolts

I tried to take my driveshaft out today but I can't get the bolts out of the yoke on the rearend.
Are they 1/4 12 point ? or something else ?
The heads are really messed up on them.
It's an 80 auto.
Thanks

they are inverted (male) torx...put there to discourage people from working on them.

I think they are the 12 point 1/4 inch. I found one at Home Depot. I think I tried the torx but it wouldn't work.

I had the same problem, went out and bought a set of external Torx sockets but it got too cold here to finish the job so I can't confirm but I think they are E8 bolts. I do know that a 1/4 inch 12-point socket wouldn't remove them.

...I thought I remember my '80 4spd car having 12 1/4" bolts on the rear yoke u-joint straps. The halfshafts had the E10 inverted torx headbolts.
