Flex plate question
I have a 2pc real seal, internally balanced 383 bottom end. I was told that it doesn't matter if I get the 168-tooth or the 153-tooth flex plate. Is that true? If that's the case besides size in diameter, what are the pros and cons between the two? I know that the type of starter to get is determined by the flexplate. I would like to run a high performance mini-starter. Which of the flex plates would you guys reccomend if I go that route?

As a rule , the higher compression engines used the large flexplate with a high torque starter. To answer your question, I would use the 168 tooth plate. More than likely, your car came with the 168 tooth flexplate. They are interchangeable. I like B&M.
