Stripping process is still going on. I want to remove the metal trim that's on the front and outside of the T-top. The trim on the side is rivetted on but I can't see what hold's the front peice on, is it just glued on? I'm afraid to start prying it off with a screwdriver because I don't want to damage it. Any help would be great.
Have previously been advised by several body shops to not remove the
trim piece. So when I repainted I taped over the molding and painted
up to it. I used lacquar thinner to remove the paint next to the molding
and sanded the rest of the tops. I used laquar thinner and not paint
stripper as I did not want to risk any stripper from working under the
molding and seeping later to ruin the new paint.
I agree with Mark, that trim can not be had, and as said maybe only used at that. I painted mine and did the same thing, masked off real well and painted up to the trim.
