I need to know ...1) where to purchase a good shop manual for 1968 only corvette. I have others but none are just for the 68. 2) I just purchased a new wiper motor from Ecklers( which I called for assistance...not much help). There are 3 wires coming out of the motor housing all painted black, after scratching off the paint one is still black one red and one white. What color wires do they hook to on my 68? Thanks in advance!
Lori
The "1968 Chassis Service Manual" that you want covers all 1968 Chevrolet models. I wasted a fair amount of time reading about brakes before I figured out I was in the "drum brake" section! You have to make sure you are in the "corvette" sections. The "corvette manuals" as you have found try to cover more than one model year. You also want the Assembly Instruction Manual, or "AIM" as we call it. That will be specifically for the 1968 corvette. You will not find a shop manual that is specific to the 1968 corvette.
I am not sure what the 68 wiper motor looks like. I have avoided that project for 7 years!! When I finally get around to replacing mine I will ask Doc Rebuild first.
The 1968 Chassis Service Manual has wiring diagrams in the electrical- boday and chassis chapter. Four of them are labeled "corvette." The diagrams themselves are not in color, so the lines representing the wires are labeled with initials like, OR for orange, PPL for purple, wat is GY, DBL, B P.... I don't think I could make much sense out of these diagrams myself.
