73 Floor
I'm in the process of installing Second Skin sound dampening/heat shielding products in my 73 (I'll post another thread about this soon with more details). Last night I got out the driver seat and carpeting and had a few questions.
First, take a look at this image. It looks like there has been some type of resin painted onto the floor boards. I was curious if this was stock or some modification a previous owner made. Places it's easy to see are in the bottom left hand corner around where the bolt is and around the seat belt retractor.

The next two images have to do with the same problem. When I took out the carpet I noticed I could push on the floor behind the pedals and it looked like there was a gap to where it should have bonded to the floor board. So, I put my hand underneath and even without pushing from the inside, I was able to put my finger through. Note that is not bonded probably a good 8 inches to the right of my finger and maybe an inch above my finger.
Surprisingly, there wasn't any mold or signs of water on the insulation that was under the carpet or the carpet itself.
Any suggestions on how to bond that back together? Or should I?
From the bottom picture you can see some cracks, what I suspect is that somehow it became unbonded in the section I can put my finger through and those cracks are where the floor has been taking the force applied by feet.

Thanks!
After removing the old deadener crap, I found LOTS of cracks in my floors. So, you might as well do it right. After all the glassing, sand it all up to give the Second Skin something to stick to...

I am about to order these products for the following repairs, but want to make sure I'm getting the right stuff. Does this look right?
To bond the panels:
3M04154 - Duramix SMC Panel Splicing Adhesive

I also want to lay down some fiberglass cloth on the floorboards to strengthen up the floor as there are small cracks, also it doesn't feel very strong when pushing on it.
So,
3M Fiberglass Cloth, 8sq ft.

And 3M Fiberglass Resin:

I've never done fiberglass repair before, but from reading about it in past threads and other websites, for strengthening the floor it seems I just want to lay the cloth down and paint resin over it and give it overnight to cure.
For adhering the panels, I just want to lay down a bead of the adhesive across the area to be bonded and somehow clamp the panels together for at least 4 hours. Sanding and scuffing up the area with 80 grit sand paper before I do this.
Sound right?
