Didn't get to go to Test and Tune on Friday because of rain so I went bracket racing tonite. Ran an 8.215 and an 8.174 (on an 8.17 dail) in time trials. First round I lowered my dail to 8.15 to be safe. Well the car ran an "all motor" best of 8.092 and I broke out. The 8.092 is a new best ET. That 7.999 is right around the corner. I didn't do any tuning at the track primarily because there wasn't enough time. Anyway here's the breakdown:
Reaction Time: .089
60ft: 1.801
330ft: 5.212
660ft (1/8): 8.092
MPH: 84.88
My other reaction times were: .003 .083 If the weather cooperates, I'll be back next Friday to try for that 7.999.
By the way Dually4wd, I saw you run that 4.56. I left after that. How'd you do?
I can't wait to build a vette that's running those times. My poor little 79's best at the 1/8th track is a whopping 9.33. :( I have already had the distributor recurved ,the carb rejetted and I punched out the cat. Dual exhaust might help a little but it probably needs more motor just to break the 8.999 mark. I probably won't go any farther than exhaust work on the 79 but I'm keeping an eye out for a good 69 project if I ever have the money for it. One day. <sigh>
Nastee,
Do you run limiters on the front? If not, I bet you could put some on and dip right in the 7's. The track was hookin' good too!
We runnered up. The second stage regulator was acting up, so we stayed on 1 system all night. Best 60ft was a 1.09; not bad for a 2900lb street car. We spun in the final and lost 4.67 to a 4.45. The good thing is, we were just going to try to qualify with the promods, and ended up getting paid to test. It was a thrash but we had a good time; good job on your .09.

I was referring to travel limiters for the upper a-arms; keeps the nose from coming as high and throwing your alignment all out of whack. Saves a bunch of rolling resistance. You can back them off for street driving to allow full travel.
