I am wondering where i would find as much info as possible. i understand there is no substitute for experience but i was wondering how i could get to know more about vettes (specifically C-3's). i have learned quite a bit from the internet and i have a chilton's guide to doing most work on them but is there any other specific reliable sources? thanks.
buy a fixer-upper. Its the best way to learn about them. Just restore it, and fix the broken parts. 9 times out of 10 you have to go through another part to fix the broken one, so you learn about 2 for the price of one...then there are always the "while your at it"s. :jester
Actually the best way I have found to learn about vettes(C3's), aside from hands on, is through this website. These people are full of knowladge and if you watch them help someone else fix their problem, you will remember how to do it in case yours ever breaks. This is a very informative site.
Dont have any offerings as far as books go but would like to offer an opinion. Pre '75 Vettes dont have a catalytic converter and other smog equipment. Tis my opinion that those models should remain stock (NCRS). Its also my belief that post '74 Vettes are the best ones to modify to one's liking since they aren't worth near as much as the earlier ones are in stock form (They're Dogs). To me it all depends on what you want it for. If you want an anatomicaly correct Vette, go with the earlier ones. If you want a Vette to have fun with and modify to your liking (Like I'm doing), get a post '74, and HAVE IT YOUR WAY :jester

I would hang around here. Raed the posts and ask some questions. These people are full of knowledge. I know I have learned alot from these guys. Good luck on finding your shark!
thankyou very much for the advice. and i do look at the forum a lot .... but most things are either very general or they are very specific. and i think it could be a little inhibiting to not have something to relate to. i think that is mainly the preoblem. thanks guys.
