Default T-Top alignment

I did a search on this but didn't get the info. I was after. My T-Tops don't leak but they are not lined up like they should be. One is farther forward than the other. How are the adjustments made to line them up? Thanks for any help. ABS-73

I believe that you can adjust the level of the bayonets that go into the openings (using shims). Not sure how they are out of adjustment . You might post a pic of what they look like to get some more feedback.

The triangle screw will adjust the fore aft. Keep in mind you will have to loosen the foward latch and center guides. I belive the triangle sctew is 1/4 inch from body to head of the screw. May have to play with both sides. There is a spec. on what the gaps should be don't remember them off hand.

You will also have to loosen the forward guidepin located at the windshield header outside corner if you intend to move the TTop fore or aft.

OK here we go! found it

The tops can be adjusted. You will need to remove the tops from the car. Place them upside down on something soft that wont damage the paint. You will need to remove the headliner. It is held on by small phillips screw and small plastic pieces that interlock to each other. These need to be pried apart with a flat blade screwdriver or something like a butter knife. If the plastic piece becomes unattached to the original postion then use some two part epoxy to reattach. After you get the headliner off then you will see what are called the spades. You will be able to see how they can be moved in or out to adjust as needed. Before you do any adjusting I would mark the original position. Also be aware that when you move the top in or out that it may have an affect on how the top of the door glass sits in the weatherstrip. If the gap is anywhere from 3/16th to 3/8ths and they are straight when looking while standing in front of the car than I would be happy. By the way I have seen the spades that have been bent by too much force or improper adjustment. After you adjust go slow when locking them in place.
Good Luck
