JVC CD stereo install
Looks like I gotta cut, but not sure how to secure it in place after that?
have to cut the bezel to fit. Works Great. There was a discussion on
this with pixs just in the last few days.
"Radio Blanking Plate" - used when people do not order a radio.
The metal box that is installed in the opening has tabs that you bend over keeping it tight to the bezel.
The mounting fixture that the actual head unit slides into, gets secured to gauge bezel with lock tabs that you will bend out.
I found it was best to remove the unit mount, and set it against the face of the gauge bezel (remove it from the car) and trace around it with a pencil so I would know where to make my cuts. I cut the plastic for the mount hole with a die grinder. Once I had the hole cut so the unit mount slid in snug I bent out the lock tabs with a small screwdriver.
I putting the inside back together but need to install the stereo while I have it all apart, wish I had thought about the mouting earlier....I wonder if Radio Shack or a stereo store would have what I need, or even WallyMart?

I just ordered one and they ship really fast. I've got my new bezel cut out and waiting to go in, but it's been around 20 in the garage for the past month so I've been putting it off.
