I am still having trouble with my wiper door staying open and if I manually close it while the car is off it opens when I start the car. I checked the actuator vacuum hose with a vacuum guage and got a zero reading on the "close side". I put in a new wiper solenoid but there wasn't any directions as to which side gets which hose and what wires to attach. Any help out there?
Everything seems to be correct with the vacuum hose but it can't be. Today I bypassed allofthe dash "stuff" and ran a line directly from the chech valve to the actuator and the door shut and my vacumm pressure was around 17hg. it must be something in the dash but I've check everything . Maybe I should bypass that wiper solenoid.
when your wipers are in the park position, they push closed a switch (for lack of a better term) that sends a signal telling the door it can close. did you check that? that has vaccuum routed to it also. It has three holes, but only 2 get a hose.(i think the top 2)

On the back of the actuator, toward the passenger compartment, inside the weather boot, there is a seal that the actuator rod goes through. I had a lot of trouble with the rod pulling that seal off the back of the actuator causing a loss of vacuum. If that is the case the rod needs some adjustment to shorten it's travel so it doesn't pull the seal off.
As other have said, check the manual override to make sure it is not engaged and that the hoses are not reversed on it.
I finally figured it out! Followed a trouble shooting guide and the previous owner had a 4 hole vacuum adapter(lack of a better term) where all the lines went into and out of. This 4 hole rubber fitting then attached to both the wiper door and headlight manual over ride switches ( they were move so to be side by side). Once I got id of that piece....WORKING!!!!!!!!!
Thanks all.
