Default a little rant

after being under my car about all winter ,actually the third winter i got back behind the steering wheel today. first winter-all new front suspension. second winter-all new rear suspension.third winter-rear pinion seal, valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, rear main seal, oil pump.it sure felt sweet driving again. my point is ,had it not been for guys on this forum i would have been in big trouble.somebody on here the other day was talking about shop manuals.ican tell you with a doubt you cannot get as much info as on these forums! so just wanted to say thanks to all those guys that helped me this winter.maybe we will meet in bowling green AL

I wanted to add to the sentiment. I ordered the AIM before I had my car delviered (not running) to begin bringing it back to life. The trouble is that the pictures in the AIM only show you how the car was assembled, and they only show you details from the perspective of someone assembling the car. It doe not show you how to take things apart out of assembly sequence, or enough detail to determine what has been changed from original.

I am a corvette newbie, but far from a car newbie (various old Chevy's all of my life). In my case, my car has been so badly abused and "fiddled with", that the only way to sort things out is to get help from others with pictures and experience solving similar problems. The books (AIM, Helms manuals, NCRS guides etc) just do not do the job.

I try to help on topics I can (items I have fixed on my car), but up to this point, I have received more help than i have given. my only hope is to be able to pass along my knowledge as it grows.
