Need 77 Corvette, C3 specs
Hey guys,
Can anyone give me the basic specs on a 77 vette?
I am looking at one and need some education on the difference engine(s).

There were only two engines. Both are 5.7L 350s. An L48 350 would be a lower HP motor, with 2 bolt mains. The L82 350 is the higher HP motor with 4 bolt mains. There are other differences.
There were a lot of different options available as well as a lot of colors for paint and interior.
Focus more on condition of the frame and birdcage, brakes, suspension, and body. Use those criteria to decide if you want it or not.
P.S. Most Vettes don't have the original engine.

for the engines it is slow and slower........don't spend any extra dough on the l82 because its so underpowered you will wind up beefing it up any way

L48= 180 HP
L82= 210 HP
The letter "L" in your VIN # means your car came equipped with the base L48 motor and an "X" indicates that it cames with the L82 Hi-Performance option. To check if your car still has the original engine in it you must look at the stamp on the engine block located right in front of the passenger side head next to the water pump, it should have the last 7 or 8 digits of your VIN # found there.
