Default 81 Insulation question

It finally warmed up enough here in Minny to get out in the garage and start pulling the carpet out to insulate with Dynamat and Reflectix. The carpet had been replaced recently and has a foil type insulation attached. But what surprised me is that the entire floor is covered with what appears to be about ½ of insulation with a black cardboard or fiber backing? I only pulled back the passenger side and saw no water damage and it appears to be in good shape. Is this the factory insulation? Should this be pulled out and replace it?

I removed it when I dynomatted my car. I dynomatted the rear and reused the factory padding around the rear wheel wells, because the factory padding helped fill out the rear carpet around the wheel wells.

I would throw out all the factory insulation in the front of the car. Replace with a heat shielding product
