Hi guys!! How do I solve my oil leak problem? Oil is coming out of the block where the dipstick tube goes into? In the beginning, we found out that the tube was not bolted on to the block so we went ahead and bolted it on......such a PITA!!!! It's still leaking and leaking bad. It's worse than a leaking faucet. Please help and thanks a lot .
Is the lower dipstick tube installed? If it's missing, the oil thrown around by the crank can come out at the tube. If it's there, check your crankcase pressure. Too high will cause oil to blow out..
just a thought, the tube is just pressed into the block. when it was loose (not bolted to the block) perhaps it got worn or bent from moving around. try removing your bolt and pulling straight up on the tube. If it comes out replace it with a new one. You should have to tap it into place with a block of wood and a hammer. If it will not come out, clean around the tube as best you can with brake parts cleaner and then seal the tube to the block with J.B. weld. The next time you have your oil pan off you can beat out the tube with a hammer and punch and install a new one. Best of luck!
