I installed the calipers that I bought last year to find that the rear ones won't allow me to install the pads!
When I mount the calipers with the rotor in place and bolted down, I see that each caliper is about 2/10ths inboard from the rotor, looking down a line created by the seam where the two halves of the caliper meet. Both inboard pads drop right in W/slop. The outer pads won't go in at all.
Anyone ever run into this problem before? I'm pretty sure I won't be able to return the calipers after a year due to the fact that just getting my core money was a struggle.
Any help is appreciated!
The front and rear rotors have a different overall offset. If you take a front rotor and put it on the rear, the caliper will be out of position.
The easy way to check if they are rears, there should be a hole for parking brake adjustment.

Nope no slots!!! Guess where and how long ago I bought them??? Yep a year ago from the same place that I had a problem with the caliper cores. Oh well, rotors shouldn't be too expensive.
I got here too late...but I helped a guy do the rear brakes on a Vette and he had the same issue. Sure enough, the rear rotors were actually front rotors. No holes, and different offset. Keep the wrong ones as spares for the front and buy yourself some new rear ones.
Yep, seems like my only choice. And by the way I believe the name of the Co. that sold these to me was Fast Corvette. You know, the one that every one seems to have trouble with!
