Default 1980 Drvie shaft
Hi guys working tranny removel ,, Drive saft u-joint in the rear is a bear to get to,, what type of bolt is the U-joint retainer ? looks like 12pt 1/4 and can you remove the carrier braket for easier access ? help much apreciated....

Use a 12 point 1/4" socket, with alot of extension to reach back from the front. About 18" is good.

It is a 1/4" 12 pt. I used a combination of wrench to break the bolts loose,and a long extension with a socket to reach over the frame to the pinion. Definately a two beer job.
