Default Courtesy Light Troubleshooting - Help!

I am putting my 69 back together with new components including the door plungers. Now when the doors are closed the interior lights are still on. The "door ajar" on the gauge panel is operating correctly. When I rotate the headlight switch stem it has no effect. My chassis grounds are in place and I have replaced all of the plungers, wiring harnesses etc with new components. Where do I start? I am looking at the schematics in the AIM now. Could it be the ground on the actual courtesy lights? I am turning on the heater in the garage and I am going to start digging around. Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks!

start by disconnecting the new switches one at a time, it will go out when you find the one that is not working.

The lights turn on when the door switch closes (door open) and goes to ground. To start, remove the door switch(s) one at a time and see if the lights go off. If not, you have a short someplace else in white wire to the switch as SKIPPERS had.

If it's like my 75 the bulb holder could be grounding keeping the lights on
