Default Need 1979 Pics? Winter's Coming

If anyone needs pics of components of a 1979 L-82, do let me know. The car is going into storage in two weeks or so as the driving season is basically finished. It will be 28F tonight. One more drive or so for the colour of the leaves and it is fini for 2001. I do not have access to the car from November to April so if you need pics of a stock 1979 L-82 and its various parts, please inform me and I will take the pictures and post. Thanks!

For example, stock choke and smog plumbing.

Paul,Would appreciate a picture of your windscreen wiper switch,the writing on mine has been completely worn away.I have looked in the catalogues for a replacement label,but have not found one yet,may have to have one made,but problem is I have no idea what it says.
Thanks Neil.

Superfast,
Yes, I would imagine you do a little better than 15.9/86 in the quarter mile as I did with all the plumbing hooked up :yesnod:.

Fleetwood,
Is this pic you were seeking?

Okay,
I just got the VIN from the guy but it doesn't make sense:
It is 1Z87495449519
Positions 3&4 are off. What is 8,7? According to my sheet it should be a 3,7 or a 6,7

As a matter of fact, I went from 16.1 (l48 :() to 15.6 just by removing the plumbing.:D The rest was due to a little strategic investment. :reddevil

1=Chevrolet
Z=Corvette
87=Model, two-door sports coupe
4=L-82 (8=L-48)
9=1979 model year
S=St. Louis Assembly Point
4=Corvette at St. Louis (other cars were apparently produced there)
49519=the unit number in a 1979 run of 53,807

It is a late 1979; probably July or August of that year. As such, it may have the 85 mph speedometer that was phased in leading to the 1980 model year.

Neil,
The pic shows the wiper switch in the "off" position. Up one notch is low-speed wipe. Another notch up is high-speed. To activate the washer in the two "on" positions, simply push on the black button: towards the dash. The button cannot be pushed in the "off" position.

Bill,
No I didn't have a digital camera when the side-pipes were on. Hope they are still working well for you. Winter storage in two weeks :sad:.
