All you gen V or gen VI 454 or 502 guys I need an oil pan for my motor. I want something in the 6 quart capacity range. Anyone know of one that will fit with the one piece rear seal motors. My car is a 69 and am currently running the 4 quart pan. Also how hard is it to change the pan. Please give me the procedure. It looks like just drop the steering linkage. Thanks.

You must use a Gen.V or VI pan with these motors. After sanding a hole through the stock pan that came on my ZZ/502(91/2" deep), I found a perfect 6 qt. pan to replace it (less than 8" deep). It is a Moroso, available through Summit Racing (in stock). It carries p/n 20411. I also got the dipstick assembly #25790, and the high-volume pump and pickup assembly #22185(remember the pickup height changes, too). Just drop the tie rod to install it. Be SURE that you have the Gen.V or Gen.VI pan gaskets, too! Everything installed without a hitch for me, and now the pan is shallower than the bellhousing. Good luck!

I am following this advice for replacing my mangled pan. The casting number on my block is 12550313. I have no room under my oil pan right now and it looks like it is resting on the steering componants.
