Does the 700r4 have an overfill/overflow vent that will eject transmission fluid? If so, where is it located? I am trying to figure out if I have a tranny leak or not. I am losing tranny fluid from the topside around where the detent cable goes in. If I start the car then let it sit for 4-5 days, it will start leaking untill I start the car again and then another 4-5 days go by then it starts leaking again then repeats the process... Damn it Bobby what in the Hell?

There is a small vent tube right above the trans cooler lines. It should not vent out fluid. There should be some sort of O ring or gasket where the throttle valve cable goes into the case. If that is your leak, its an easy fix.
The vent tube is on top. You have to really get it hot to puke out there. My guess is the TVS or dipstick seal. Both easy fixes. Once in a while, you get one with a pourous case. If it just started, I doubt that is the problem.
Because like any other tranny, the seepage is so slow, the accumulation takes a time to develope enough to drip....slo process....and likely to never be totally cured.....
ALL cars tend to mark their spot, just like a Harley....
The aftermarket detent cable I bought would not seal properly. My opinion was that the rubber was too tight and when I tightend down on the bolt it cocked to one side. I would have helped if the general had given a two sided mount. I already had the body on so I just cleaned up the fluid with brake cleaner and gobbed rtv around the base of the cable. Ugly but effective.
I also think it takes time for the fluid to return to the pan allowing it to leak a few days after use.
