ok guys, i have a 74 that leaks from the top when it rains. The t-top seals have been replaced. When sitting in the car and trying to watch for where its coming in. Water is coming down from the rear view mirror and along the windshield area. where the windshield (bolster?) is. and some comes down the a-pillar because you can tell that the padding there has been water soaked. Thanks for any help I can get in trouble shooting this, or any ideas, it would be great.
Had the same problem because the windshield seal was old, rotten and missing in gaps on both top and bottom. Get a good light and look where the glass meets the frame from the inside along the top, and feel for air coming in while driving along the bottom.
Until I can get around to the proper fix (the car is my dd and I can't get to work if it is down), I've bubba'd using some black rtv along the top seam (applied from the outside) and some leftover house door seal strip along a big gap on the bottom. It has been a 'good enough' fix to work for the last couple of months against some Houston monsoons.
Pull the trim from the inside and see if you can find it that way. Also pull the kick panels and see if its coming in on the #2 mounts, that would indicate that it is cominf thru the WS frame and/or the lower WS frame corners. Mie did the same thing, was coming thry the WS frame upper bar and dripping out of the trim screw holes
Open the doors and push out on the glass From the inside and look at the outside. If you see any movement the seal is toast. The ribbon used to seal the old glass tends to dry out over time.

How big of a hassel is taking the outside molding off (and mostly back on)....appearences with my car are similar to your guys leaks....I'll bubba a windshield seal as you've done if it stops the leaks....

I would be interested to know as well. The trim looks straightforward in the AIM; getting the old seal and adhesive to let go without damage to the glass looks like the challange to me....
