When do you use valve spring cups? Locators?
Going to bigger springs to handle the roller cam on a new pr of Trick Flow heads. Did a search here on the forum, did some research..not clear which one to use. The spring pocket is 1.610 OD and the dual springs are 1.440 OD. Found spring cups and locators that appear either would work...So which one is best to use?
How much gap is OK between the OD of the spring and ID of the cup? or OD of the spring and ID of the edge of spring pocket? thanks..Mark

I'd probably use a locator here ... if I could get one with shoulder OD to match your spring ID & your guide OD. So ... what is ID of each spring, both inner & outer? ... what is largest OD of guide? Note: most cups & locators are about 0.060" thick.
