Correct Rim Size for Tire ?
having 7" rims all the way around, I've got 7" on the front and 8"
on the back.I've got Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's all the way around size 22570R15, and when I looked up the spec's on the tire to double check if 8" rims where OK with that tire it said that the recommended rim size was 6"-7.5". I was wondering if anyone has had any problems running tires on rims that weren't the correct size. I know its a stupid question, but the tires only have about 800 miles on them and I would rather put the cost of 2 new tires toward something else on the car. Any imput would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I just put on 235/70-15 in the front on 8" rims.
The shop had some problems to get the tires to seal initially to the rim for airing up. It required some brutal force to start sealing as the sidewalls are too narrow.
But once it sits on the rim, it looks great.
225 is a touch narrower , so be ready for some fighting.
