Default Apparently Bubba got a new welder

My sons '76 was parked for many years before we took it on as a project. It has been having fuel delivery issues - So I decided we needed to drop the tank and check the strainer/sock.

Well as you probably know the mufflers wont let the tank drop out of the cubby it is in. So I go to remove the rear of the exhaust system to find that every joint on the exhaust system is welded - even the joints that have u-joints are welded.

So... I go to drop the muffler and the bolt/nut are welded together.

Anyways.... After dropping the tank - The strainer was clogged solid with crap. Suprisingly the rest of the tank inside was clean. I wiped it out and it actually looks really good.

Here is my contribuition to screwing something up. I used a razor blade to cut the hoses (I am replacing them anyways) and when I cut the two lines on the drivers side I was lucky enough to cut right through the restrictor in the line that goes to the tank fitting that vacuums the rubber liner to the tank.

Any Ideas on what I should do in place of the restrictor?

Sorry, no ideas about the restrictor but I betcha that the previous owner had the exhaust come loose a coupla times before and decided to "fix" it once and for all, amazing what comes of frustration,,,,,,,,,Peace,,,Moosie
