A/C Compressor on All The Time

Hi, my 73 has Factory A/C, which until recently has been working well. The car sat for about 45 days over winter, when I got in to drive it yesterday, I noticed that when I turn the ignition switch on, the blower starts running, even though the switch is in the off position. After startup, I noticed that I was not getting very warm, I opened the hood and to my surprise I found the A/C compressor spinning, the clutch was engaged even though the control was not selected to A/C or defrost.

Any suggestions where to start troubleshooting this situation?
