I recently purchased a kit on Ebay to remove and install bearings on the rear spindles for my 70'. The tooling on these items is wonderful. Here is my problem. The instructions are not clear on how to push the bearing back on the spindle. There is a heavy duty plate with bolts (2) and a third bolt with a rounded end. So I am looking at this darn thing and for the life of me I cannot figure it out. I have contacted the sellers and am waiting for more info if they have it. These folks sell these all of the time. I am impatient. I need pictures. Can anyone guide me? Thanks Mike.

There are several tools for this job. I think you have the spindle removal tool. The outer bearing is just pressed on. The inner beariing uses a diffrent tool. And it matters if the trailing arm in still in the car. If it is out and you have acess to a shop press you can work around some of these tools.

The current issue of CE has the proedure for on the car. I would not do them on the car. I have done a lot of them and can help. Do a search in the archives under my name and you should find it.
You can not just install new bearings, they have to be setup. They are press fit so you get one shot at it - be sure to use a setup tool first.
Also I found the shims and spacers to be out as much as .005" so they should be parallel ground prior to setup. This is a point lost on most but makes a BIG difference in the job.

I will try and look it up. I am redoing everything in the rear and it is easy to remove the trailing arms if necessary as everything has been bead blasted and painted with no brakes on as of yet. Yes it is a odd looking plate with the three bolts. If I can't figure this out I will post back crying. Mike.
