On your car the only thing running into the interior of the car are electric wires from the oil pressure sensor mounted in the block. No need to lose sleep on this one
I think my screen name is making you think I have an 80 vette....
I don't think I'm electric... my car a 69 with a 427. My oil pressure line snapped twice near the oil filter because I was using copper, Now I'm using nylon, but this is beside the point.
The Oil pressure tube goes from the engine near the oil filter and connects to another line that goes through the firewall... I assume oil is flowing through the tube that goes through the firewall.
Doh! Your right. Sounds like if you have big bucks in the interior, the braided SS line is a good investment.
Is it likely that the oil line inside the car will snap??? And if it does I know it will be a mess, but will I know it broke before it becomes a real mess? (Yes I know the guage will be 0, but I am not looking at the guage constantly) Will I hear it, smell it, see it? What kinda damage will it do beside the mess? The good news is the IF it does break, I would be able to pop the hood, disconnect it, and put a cap on it... I carry the tools to do this since I had the honor of copper breaking on me twice leaving me stranded.
It's Going to be a PITA having to take apart some of the interior again... and that sucks because I JUST FINISHED IT
