A question that has probably been asked before, but can't seem to find it in the arcives. Sorry..Anyway, is there a specific tool for pumping the diff. fluid out. I've tried a hand pump such as the one you find on the gallon jugs of some brand diff. fluids and just could not get it to flow out. Thought of using shop vac after removing the filter, but what a mess that would still make of the shop vac I would think. Anything maybe that would attach to a drill for the suction maybe???????????/ I refuse to remove the diff cover for the P.I.T.A. that I'm sure you all realize that is. Oh one more thing,................ LIPS NOT AN OPTION!!!!!!!! This for the comedians out there.
I used a pump from sears, that attaches to a drill...about $15. I had to add fittings for some clear tubing. It is a 2 person operation, but works very well. Also, I used this drill pump to fill the differential.
I used a hand held fluid pump. This was like one of the kind used for oils and lubricants. I took the pump out, and inserted the end of the pump directly into the differential opening, and hand pumped out as much fluid as I could get. It took a while, but worked pretty good.
This was one of the worse smelling greases I have been around.
I got my pump from Advanced Auto it was around $11.00 it has about 12” of clear tubing that connects to the metal like syringe. It is about 2” dia and 12” long. I’m sure most big auto parts have them.
