Default Tach Brain Fart!

Ok... First, I never claimed to be the sharpest pencil in box! lol

I have a 69 Vette, putting in a 88 350 in her till I build a Dated Motor, I put a 65k distributor on her and now realize it is not one with the cam needed to run my Tach, it has the electric prongs for Dist and Electric.

Is there anything out there that will take the Electric information for the Dist and convert it to mechanical for me to use my exsisting tach?

NO. ... but ...
You can retrofit an electronic TACH from a 75 thru 77 C3 into your dash.
You can send your mech TACH off & have it converted to elec.
You can buy an aftermarket DISTRIBUTOR that has a mech TACH drive.

I was hoping someone would tell me there is a widget out there that take electronic signal and turns a cam that you then connect your Tach too!

I figured I couldnt be the only dumb person out her to do something like this! lol

Actually there are divices available. I found them when trying to decide what to do with mine. At this time, I dont remember exactly where, but I know it was by searching on the internet. You might try speedometer transducers.

It would have to be a DC motor, regulated by a speed drive, that was controlled by a pulse output. Being such a miniscule demand for this, it would be crazy to make one.

Either go back to a mechanical tach drive distributor or swap the tach for a 75-77 electronic tach.
