Default intake manifold gasket thickness ??

Trying to determine the correct thickness for the intake manifold gaskets. I installed the heads temporarily with two old head gaskets to get the correct height.

I noticed that the manifold sits very low, even with the old manifold gaskets in place the boltholes don't line up, still too low. The gaskets I'm using are .060".

I saw that these gaskets are available in several thicknesses up to .120", for example Mr Gasket MRG-106

Is it "normal" that I need a .120" thick gasket ??? I'll be using RTV at the front and rear of the block so that's no big deal - The block was decked to 9.010" so the heads sit a little lower than 'stock' (.015") - I didn't expect that to make such a big difference on the manifold position - any thoughts ??

i used the .120 thick gaskets. lined up nicely. That was with a heavily decked block , a set of 292 heads and an RPM manifold.
