TO YOU ALL::Thanks for the words of encouragment and wisdom. I feel better now :yesnod: You are all CORRECT when I look at it from your perspective.. owning an old Vette is an enjoyment, an accomplishment, and a hobby. What price can you put on that feeling after you've done something to it and step back to admire your work. What price can you put on all the accolades, stares and compliments you get for a bequtiful car and a job well done.. Thanks all!!
MNJack... you bring up some good points about being a survivor..or bowtie. I've considered those options, but it's pretty hard to enjoy sitting in, much less driving a moldy, mildew smelling, discolored, dirty, faded, stained interior car. Thanks for your response, but I'm realy not interested in survivor or collector status . :D
If you're happy with your baby, the price doesn't matter. Cruise and enjoy. Remember, Shark drivers wave!!!

:)
Oh YEAH!! I learned "the wave" on the first day I drove it home! Another 77 passed by in ther opposite direction.. he rolled down his window and started flailing his arm in the air like he was landing an airplane.. of coarse... I waved back..but my grin was bigger!!! :D
Sound like a nice car

Hey Sivlr77 in Wildwood! So... you saw me cruisin the neighborhood all summer in my white 77, tops off, beautiful woman in the seat next to me, and that got you hooked on this vette thing, eh? uh huh :yesnod:
We should get together. Send me an email. Luv to see your car. I figure another 4-5 weeks before I put mine away for the winter. I hope to get out tonight if the weather clears. Rain should hold off till tomorrow pm.

So that was YOU?? Yeah, I saw you on Gages Lake Rd. I was going West and you were traveling East. You my frind, were my first offical "Shark Wave". Later that Saturday, I saw your car parked in a lot on Rt83. My son and I stopped to look at it... Sweet ride. Drop me a line sometime, cause I'd love to look at your ride a little closer :yesnod: I am always available to help out a neighbor too .. especially one with a Vette (small world huh?) :D
email me at pavetted@hotmail.com :seeya :seeya :seeya wavin back
Don't want to see the next question: "Did I sell it to cheap at $2000.00 to a guy in Washington"? Unless that guy is ME :D
I can safely say that I asked that same question on most every car I have ever bought! At the time of purchase the answer: "No". At the time the selling price was accepted answer is yes!
The fact that your "grinning ear to ear every time you look at her" says you didn't. Apparently you can buy happiness :D

Re: Did I Pay 2-Much? (Alwyn678)
I do not think original carpet really means a thing to be honest.....Who would want it!!!!
I've got the original carpeting in my '70. It's one of the few modifications Bubba deemed unnecessary. You should see the carpeting though. It crumples everytime I touch it. Excluding furniture or coins, I don't think I'd want anything "original" that's 30+ years old!
Think an NCRS guy would be interested? I can't find any numbers on it  but it's original:D Maybe I should put it on E-bay?
Its relative. The car was what you wanted, and you could afford it, so it just doesn't matter. Try some CLR on the belts. It is available in drug stores and it has the famous "as seen on tv" sticker on the stuff. It worked on my '70.
Maco:
The first product I tried was CLR. Very little positive results. Bleach was next, followed by extra strength carpet shampoo and a-lot of elbow grease. All those products took about 60% of the stains out..but the stains remain!! :cry Thanks for your imput!! :seeya :seeya :seeya

It would probably bring big money on E_BAY!!! :jester
YEP.. :yesnod: They can have mine too... stains, discolored, mold and mildew included at no extra charge. It was pretty cool seeing the original build date tags stapled the bottom of the old carpet. Of coarse, I saved them... mabey I'll staple them to the new!!!  :seeya :seeya :seeya
