Gas Tank Bladder Shifting
I pulled the gas tank for other reasons and took out the sending unit as well to change the sock on it. However when to put the sending unit back into the tank, the holes in the bladder are no longer lined up well with the holes in the tank. I tried using a screwdriver to force the holes in alignment but that was a no- go.
Anyone else have this problem?

Did you happen to pull your tank because it was leaking? I have a 78 project car and pulled the tank because of a pin hole leak. I too have bladder in my tank. Are you looking at resealing a leak in your tank? If so please share your product and process.

These bladders are known to sometimes collapse but I don't know if pulling the sending unit could have anything to do with it.
I talked to a guy once with a '76 that had this happen & it gave him something like a 13 gallon tank...........
